I pondered painting the back side of the new aquarium before putting it as finished.

What do you guys think?

I have seen some with some interesting colored painted backs.

The standard black, sea blue, dark blue, white.

I was pondering maybe something different though...
Gray
Tan
Burlap
(Some natural earth tonw)
Green
Brown


What do you guys think of painting the back side?

If you are for it, what is your choice of color?

I LOVE my painted tanks. Mine are all Black, and the O's look great!

BUT if I had to do it over, I would try a different color... Maybe a tan would be nice... Or Gray...

Just look at it this way, if you don't like it, 10 minutes with a razor blade and it's gone!

I think Grey or tan would look good if your going for something out of the norm. Like Nicki said if you dont like it, Razor blade!

im really bad at putting backing up and taking it off, one day i want it up the next i want it down, grrrrrr

I think painting is a cool idea. I wish I had done it with mine. Maybe some day.

My advice... think of the color of your Oscars/fish. You want them to stand out against the background without getting lost in them if you know what I mean. I was worried about a black back ground, which Nicki has, but her fish do look great. I thought they would get lost in it since the O's are tigers - mainly black. Currently I have a backing that looks like the waves underwater. It is light blue and my Oscars stand out nicely.

Personal preferance though.

I like the black background.

It makes the oscars colors stand out more when he swims around the top (shitty cam pic and of course the Oscar decided to stay at the bottom for the pic...but you get the idea).
I am considering going with black sand too...although I am not too keen on doing that whole operation. At this point we're talking major pain in the ass. I definitely think having a black background really gives you a lot of freedom to decorate in some cool ways.

i have painted all my backgrounds....
if you are unsure about just a plain one try adding something different on it....

I was actually considering directly painting the back wall. No background per se. Just acrylic paint on the acrylic back panel.

I am just putting togeather my new tank and I used limo black window tint. Looks good and can be changed.
