Hey not sure if it belongs in this thread.

But was looking at my tank the other day n all i could see was all my air pipes.
Can anyone suggest kewl ideas of how they hide or conceal their spagetti pips in their tank. My oscar swims between them atm and not liking it.

How big is your tank?

Have you considered building/buying a sump so you can put all your 'gear' in the filter at the bottom of the tank, and you have a completely clear show environment?
4xOscars
1xBlood Parrot
2xJDs (pair)
5xClown Loaches
1xPleco

265 Gallons (84x24x30)
36" T5 Light for shading, sunlight effects
300 Gallon rated Living Color wet-dry sump
3L of SeaChem Matrix + Bioballss, ceramic rings etc...
1xIvy for nitrate filtering

I am always looking for better ways to enhance the lives of my babies. Hit me up, let's chat about fish!

put plants in front or ornamants to concel but not to block

Re: Hiding tubes 1 year, 8 months ago #115532

I try and have all the tubes come out of the tank at the same spot in the corner. I run them under some sand with a rock or two to keep them underneath if they're on different sides of the tank.

I had an extra heater I wasn't using so I took the suction cup attachments with the plastic grippers that came with it and use them instead for the hoses to keep them together and flush with the back of the tank wall as they go up. I then put a decoration and some plants in front of it. I also keep my digital thermometer back there.

I would put my heater back there too but my oscar is absolutely fascinated by the heater light for some reason...he stares at it all the time and he sleeps right next to it at night--so I'm just going to leave it as he wouldn't be able to access it behind the decor, which is obviously good for the tubing because I definitely don't want him messing with those like he does the plants.

I use fake plants to hide the tubings, that i "wrapped" around them as good as posible, but my O's do some redecorating from time to time.

When setting up the community tank i was surprised to find that the pre-fab background that was in there, has a duct especially made for guiding the tubes out of the tank.
Good idea by the manufacturer.

Run the pipes under the gravel/sand and weigh them down with some decor like your rocks or wood. After some time(months) they will become 'fixed' in shape. To cover the pipes coming down in the corner you can buy fake plants that have a sucker on them (these plants are sold for vivariums but work well in tanks)
