OK so as the Subject suggests i went and bought a nice big piece of driftwood for my 450l tank, except i have one problem, its ACTUAL driftwood and wont sink... so i have it soaking in the tank at the moment under a heavy rock so it wont float, and im just wondering if this is the best way to get it to sink or is there a better way?

Hi,
I know Noddy boiles the wood. I don't know if thats the secret but u can try if the wood fits in your pand, or you can boil it, art by part and tuning it so all wood have been boiled....
I hope it works for ya!

i had the same problem, i tied tubing and suckers to mine, and stuck it to the side of the tank, as it was far to big to boil, took 4 months to finally sink,

mine, i just put some sucker cup, anchor it at the bottom plate with
transparent string...and presto, it looks like " the epoch' floating
foreign crust inside the tank...

like dimmy stated, boiling could help.
if you can't fit it into the pan, the only other option is weighing it down and being patient.
Very patient, that is.

for my larger pieces of driftwood i used a stainless steel screw and attached a piece of plexiglass to the bottom of it then buried it into the substrate.....

yeah, i know the feeling!
This piece luckily sank by itself, for there was no pan big enough to boil it in...
