hi there just done my first water change with my new wc set up ,i have a 390l rena aqualife setup for my 2 4inch oscars .I have set myself up an easy wc setup with includes a 1.5inch id pipe with i syphon out the water down to a set level on the tank which take 2 mins straight into the outside drain through the window also sitting ready and waiting i have a full 136 litre water butt with the water ready and waiting which is pumped out with a pond pump straight back into the tank with a flick of a switch superb (3 mins) ill have to post a pick of the tank

This is the same system i have, but mines 50g. its a great way to do it as you can treat,heat, water before it gose into your tank. anyone with the space its worth doing. Its main advantage is in winter when your tap water can be very cold. with it ready heated in your tub your fish dont get a cold dose.and its fast.

How do you heat the water thats ready to go back in the tank? with a heater. My electric bill is high enough already without adding to it. I use water my gas heating system heats up and that is loads cheaper than heating with electric

it works out for me 2 buckets off heated water out the tap poured into the water butt along with the cold water gives me the correct temp ready for the tank
