in my 75 gallon the light is on 5 hours out of the day i keep getting a clear film on the glass it wipes right of is this normal is it algae

I think you are getting the start of growth of algae.Yes its normal and a pain. You just have to keep on top of it or it becomes a little harder to remove once green. I like my glass to be spotless in the front. I am not bothered by sides or back.

Just keep cleaning it off. Algae is a pain
