Hi,after new year or on summer holidays I will be moving houses and also I will restart my aquarium and I asking if this set-up is going to be any good for an
Oscar fish with few tank mates,I'm asking so early because I will need to raise
some money to make it happen...
okay I'm planing to stay with my aquarium:
200cm by 75cm by 50cm over 700litres...
but I will add an over 200litres sump with three chambers:
chamber 1:foams and pads and water income .
chamber 2:biological,bio balls and ceramic rings and lava rock.
chamber 3:air stones and 2 300wat heaters and water pump.
sump will be custom made for me for very small money as my dad's friend work in a glass business

(and maybe if I will get really good GCSE grades A only
I will get custom monster aquarium but only if i get a good grades...
it will be big,it will measure 3 metres in length and 1 metre in width and high
:300cm*100cm*100cm about 3000litres)

but lets talk about my current aquarium.....
I also will want to change life stock,I'm thinking of Amazon set-up with fish's that only come from Amazon rivers,I got few ideas and all of them will include few catfish's to clean a mess that fish's will produce
idea 1:
six tiger Oscars and few catfish's.
idea 2:
two tiger Oscars and 5 silver dollars and few catfish's.
idea 3:
one tiger Oscar with many catfish's.

if any one knows what catfish's could go in my aquarium but please note that all catfish's must come from Amazon river because I want to do Amazon theme
aquarium....

please tell me what you think..............

a tank around your size (160g uk) would support something like 2 oscars and five silver dollars. I would forget the cats as this will over stock. this kind of setup will leave you changing around one third your water a week. this I would consider manageable. 6 oscars would give you problems with water conditions and leave you changing much more water per wk. I have had 4 oscars in a tank almost the same size as yours and I was changing water twice a wk(one third).

You need to consider how much work you will put into your tank. If you want to keep it a reasonable amount per wk dont overstock. If you do overstock you must do the water changes weather you are on holiday,sick or just dont feel like it or your fish stock will suffer.
