I took everyone's advice and purchased a new tank. The 110 Gal tank i was going to buy was already sold so i had to settle for a 55 Gal tank. I sanded the bottom and it took a week to get the water safe to put my Oscar in. I had a problem when i placed my fish in the tank because of one little devil fish. I had a little striped fish about half the size of my Oscar in the tank with him. He kept chasing the Oscar around the tank. The fish also picked the fins off another fish i had in the tank. It took me a whole day but i finally caught the little thing and flushed him in the toilet. Now my Oscar is doing good and looking healthy. I want to put another fish in the tank with him but i havent decided what to put with him.

since you bought a 55 gallon tank i would advise not to put any tankmates in with him. a 55 is the minimum size for a single solitary oscar. if you want mates with your o you will need a lager tank.

also keep an eye on your water parameters one week isnt long enough to fully cycle a tank.
