Hi to all, i have a 45 gallon tank with one baby oscar & a clown loach. My question is do you think my tank is big enough to house my oscar when he is bigger? The tank is just under 2 foot wide & 3 foot long & 2 foot high. I got the tank from a friend with cabinet for nothing. Be kind i am new:)

3 ft long x 24 wide x 24 high is an 88 US gal or 75 Imp gal tank.
yes, it can accommodate 1 full grown oscar and a clown loach.
with good filtration capacity, yopu still have room for some
small specie cichlid.

as Paul pointed out a 88 US galon tank is more than caperble of housing 1 large oscar, with room for your loach and possbly one other cichlid, how big is your clown loach? as they are very slow growing, mix this with the fact your oscar will grow at an alarming rate you may find he becomes meal sized very soon if he is small at the moment!!

hope this helps,

Matt

Thank you for your reply, that helps. My clown loach is around 5 inches.

allthough the gallonage in your tank is adequate to house your oscar and loach i would be concerned with the lack of lateral swimming area in your tanks footprint. while your oscar is small a 3 foot tank is long enough but as he grows 3 feet might turn out to be a little to short for him especially if you do get another cichlid as a tank mate.

just my opinion
Warning..I will offend you at some point!!!
