Hi,
I'm starting a new tank frrom scratch, it's a 4ft 280ltr, cannister fiter [1500litres per hour] + inside submersible filter, heated to 26deg, crushed shell substrate.
I have been following the instructions to set up the tank, on the first day I put the water in & the dechlorinator, second day I put in the Bio-Boost & approx 16 tetras & 3 platy's to help start the cycling process, the fish have been in for 4 days now and the levels are staying the same as before the fish went in, ph 7.8, ammonia 0 .
Am I expecting results to start too soon? and if I am, when should the Ammonia start to appear?
Also, do you think I have enough fish in the tank, and if you think I need more, how many more and what type/size?
thanks for any help.

I don't suppose those fish are creating an awful lot ammonia so you might have to wait a bit longer. I'm not familiar with bio boost, exactly which manufacturer are you using.

What test kits are you using? Just keep checking the ammonia for the next few days. Keep feeding the fish as normal.
I may not always be right, but I am always the boss

Bio-Boost is made by Aristopet, and the test kits are by Nutrafin.
If you dont think those fish would be making much Ammonia, should I put some others in? and if so, how many and what of?
Also, do you have any idea when the Ammonia should start?
thanks

when i set up a tank for my friend, i just used tilapia booster
floating pellets as seeded waste. no fish but the decaying foods
produces what the cycling needs. eventually the tank is ready in
3 weeks. there are times that those chemicals alter the natural
way of establishing the tank. it unmask water parameters that
lead us to confusion.

just to share my way of cycling the tank.
