Finally getting Big Baby.

Im gonna go get my 150 gallon tank today. So far on prices fo rthe new tank and set up I have spent:

$241.00 Fluval Fx5
$11.00 Bio-Media
$4.68 21 lbs of real Lava Rock
$4.00 For an ungodly amount of gravel at the local concrete place.
$26.00 For Marineland Heater
$59.00 dollars on driftwood from Ohio, including 1 for free from New Mexico.
$39.00 Another Marineland Heater
$719.00 Tank, Tank Stand, Light
$3.79 Black Fabric from Walmart for use for blackground,(cut too size).
$4.00 more dollars for more gravel. (I only used half this time).


Soon to come: 48" Aqua-Glo light

Itsa Beast. Its way bigger than I thought it would have been but I think thats beacause everything else in the house is dwarfed compared to this.... glass swimming pool.

how do you clean it? hot salty water? tell me why this rock is better than say smooth round river rock?

I washed them off and then boiled them. Then I let them dry.

I can't tell you why its better... or worse for that matter. I made a choice for what I wanted and went out and got them.

will you use the lava and stack it? It's ruff so I thought like for my O he likes to bump into the plants and heater. will these rocks cause injuries?

I have my lava rock on the bottom of the tank.

I don't want them to be stacked because Blaze and Kream stay mid-tank. Sometimes they go to the bottom. I really only use the rocks for caves and the color. The rocks I have can form natural caves. Good for my lobster and convicts.

They have sarp points on them but like I said they stay at bottom of the tank. Nothing high.

Considering how high my 150 gallon is. They'll be more than happy to stay mid-tank.
