Fielder created the topic: How to preserve a cycled tank?

My tank has cycled at last.
Any good advice for keeping it cycled for a few weeks before adding any fish?
Maybe 4 weeks.
There are sources of fish especially interesting to me that will be available in
2 to 4 weeks, but not before.

I may get some fish immediately, or perhaps wait for those few weeks.

Can I just keep adding ammonia every other day or so to keep the tank
ready for a few weeks, or do I actually need to start adding fish
immediately?

yes if you have pure ammonia you can put a little bit in to keep it cycled or you can add fish like guppies tetras or something else that's cheap plentiful and easy to rehome when your done with them whatever you find easier

Don't dwell on what went wrong. Instead focus on what to do next
