HABS!? I dont truly hate many things in life, but that team is #1 on my total despise list. I have plenty of buds that are big Habbies. Year after year they bug me to go to Montreal for a game. If they were playing in my driveway I'd call the cops and have trespassing charges laid!

Suprd, you've got to give us a rundown of who's going where, and just how many fish you have! :D

Looks great. Is that you tinfoil in there as well?

Is there a JD in there as well? Bottom right under stump???

I'm green w/ envy......but that's a 265 in the pic? You are better at the stand making thing than me...so break it down & school me...how is that frame stand holding all that weight? I would be a bit nervous....

THOSE WHO REFUSE KNOWLEDGE ARE DOOMED TO FAIL.

WATER CHANGES ARE THE LIFEBLOOD OF THIS HOBBY. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE SO OR SIMPLY DON'T FEEL LIKE DOING THEM, RE-HOME YOUR FISH, SELL YOUR AQUARIUM & FIND ANOTHER HOBBY, AS YOU WILL FAIL UTTERLY, COMPLETELY, & MISERABLY.

You'd be surprised how strong structural pine is (at least, it looks like structural pine). The uprights would be taking most of the weight as far as I'm aware. At least, that's what my partner mentioned when I was freaking out about the stand he was building for the umbee 6ft tank.

Stand is plenty strong. Same ladder box frame top, 3/4 ply top and bottom, 5/8 styro for leveling. Vertically it has 10 legs, each is double 2x4, "L" shaped. My latest trick is having the FX5's on platforms with caster wheels. Disconnect and wheel them right to the sink for cleaning. And yep, my 3yr old male JD is still in there. Very mild mannered fella, great community fish.

Spruce 2x4's have an incredible vertical weight limit. Very important is to be very stiff, ie no swaying or racking potential.
