Try changing the placement of you filter outputs to try and blow all the waste to one corner of your tank that way it doesnt have a chance to mix in

I am in the small minority that does not like sand for big messy fish. I have several tanks in your size range, with foot long Oscars, big plecos. I find the easiest substrate to maintain is river pebbles, just thick enough to cover the bottom. I have a 180g with 2 large Oscars, FX5, Filstar xp4 and AC110. Tank gets twice weekly on average 50-60% w/c with good vac on each change.

Unless your Oscars are babies or juveniles I would only feed once a day and as Poseidon said six times a week.As everyone has suggested keep up with the gravel vac.
