This is about as easy as you can get.
Use your tank dimension's (L x W) and how tall you would like the stand to be.

here's a link to my last DIY stand.

Remember measure twice cut once

Finally got my cover for the 100 gallon today and just found out that my stand will be done on Tuesday at the latest. Its taking longer then I expected to get my tank set up but soon as I set it up and figure out how to put pictures on here I will have them up. Just found out a carpenter that lives on my street is going to build my stand at a price I couldn't turn down considering he does that stuff for a living so it should be a lot better then I would have done lol. Would of been so much easier and quicker if my local pet store could of ordered a lid and stand for the tank, instead I had to get creative Ahahah

Thanks I will have pictures up soon.
I'm still trying to decide if I want to use dark gravel or sand lol I hate making decisions.

I too had that problem. I had tanks with sand (pool filter sand) much easier to clean but wanted dark substrate in the 150 so I wine t with black gravel I was afraid of getting sand in the fx6. Check my other threads to see the difference and compare how they look

I'm also nervous about sand in the filter too, I have the filstar xl and I had to shorten the intake tube because my Oscar like to try to dig the fake plants and stuff up and flicks sand all over the place. I'm wondering if I would be better off to go with the gravel because my Oscar likes to cause trouble and do what he wants with his tank I don't want him to ruin my filter.

Not a sand user, but I actually extend all the intakes on my Filstars so I can do 75% water changes without turning filters off.

That's what I liked doing but my Oscar had other plans lol. I might go with gravel it's just I like how easy it is to clean things off the top of the sand I usually skim the sand daily with a turkey baster it makes the tank so much easier to maintain.
