How big is each filter? How many gallons would you suppose all four would hold?

That's very good ... incredible volume for a filter. That's the size of a small sump without the worries of one. By comparison, my filters hold .7 gallons each. You could spend a lot of money on ceramic media trying to fill it all up, but it's not necessary to do so. I'd use a large powerhead because that's a lot of water to move.

Yeah I only had the 1 power head and the other was a sponge filter i've changed to a power head untill i can buy the other one. the one power head i do have is quite powerful and the water just falls short of the small sponge part over flow when I brought the tank I was given a 50 litre bucket full of ceramic noodles so that pretty much cut alot of the cost out. the water is already becoming so much clearer.
