Poseidon2.0 created the topic: New wood for Darth Vader

I added some new drift wood to Darth Vader's tank that I picked up yesterday at the Fish Factory. Waaaay larger than I imagined it was going to look in the 75, but he seems to like it. I sanded the sharp edges down so hopefully he won't injure himself on it. I removed the synthetic driftwood I had had. I liked the look, but wanted some real wood to help lower the ph a bit.

Try leaning it on the corner so he can swim around it (like a root system).

looks goods really suits tank. when I last bought driftwood had to soak for 6 weeks before it would stop floating, must be quite dense.

Yes it is very dense, possibly some kind of Mopani Driftwood? I have a piece in another tank I retrieved from a stream and it half sunk and half floated partly for 3 months before sinking all the way. Most of the dw they sell in stores here though, sinks immediately despite being dry.
