So would this work for options since in April I will be getting a 125 gallon! Would this work for stocking? It will have 2 emperor 400s and a canister filter for filtration.
Option 1
Tiger oscar
Firemouth
Salvini
5 silver dollars 1 Raphael catfish

Option 2
2 oscars
1 firemouth
5 silver dollars

Option 3
1 oscar
Common pleco
1 firemouth

Would any or all if these work??

Tank will hold 2 Oscars and nothing else, but compatibility is an odds against situation. Firemouth will likely be bullied into hiding by the faster growing and much bigger Oscar. Salvini is a nasty fish, but stays a reasonable size. It will also likely pound the Firemouth. Oscar and pleco, minus the FM is the best option of what you have selected. 1 Oscar and SD's would also be ok

Here is a fun little thing to play with stocking: aqadvisor.com/AqAdvisor.php?AquTankName=&AquListBoxTank=125g...y=2&AqJuvMode=&AqSpeciesWindowSize=short&AqSearchMode=simple

The only real thing I question is in tank #3, Why a common pleco? They really get huge and not sure if you would notice any help with it cleaning up but more work cleaning up after.

There are many really cool plecos that dont get huge and are quite attractive.

Having got rid of a big school of silver dollars recently I will tell you that was the best day of my life!

Grew tired of their mindless and skittish behavior. Also getting hosed at feeding if you did not close the lid fast enough gets pretty tiring.

Agree with dmd so many smaller cooler looking plecos also maybe try an acara and or a cryptoheros with your oscar. Chocolate cichlids and severums make for good oscar tankmates too

That set up would still allow a little wiggle room to fit in something.

If I go for this what about a personable but somewhat peaceful cichlid any suggestions?

All depends on the fish. Ive seen easy going Oscars and some downright mean ones. The sev should work out well with him and be a good peaceful tankmate
