Can anyone give me advice with regards to the sump.

What is best to put in each section?

What to put in the reactor?

What sock is best?

I like to use seachem products and have read about seachem matrix. Where would i put this?

Thanks for any help

i use a 200 micro sock - IMO it doesn't clog that fast - i switch mines out every 3-4 weeks.

you can put seachem matrix in the first chamber - heaters in your second // depends if you want to setup a refigium // return pump's in your third chamber and i'm not sure why there's a fourth - i think it's a fail safe if it over flow ????

No not at all. Sometimes i squeeze the marimos so they float. Ive seen the oscars push them around playing but not trying to break them. When they are on the bottom of tank they dont bother with them.

Do you wash them aswell or just swap for new?

I wont be setting up a refigium. I just want the most efficient filteration i could get with what i have. Can i put seachem purigen and phosguard in reactor? (i dont really want to use carbon)

I want to put some kind of felt or foam pads in aswell. Maybe a layer in the bottom of each chamber or perhaps either end of the second chamber.

i buy 2 or 3 socks and wash them each time i pull them out. I just use a hose and spray the inside and out. you can def put foam pads on the bottom, but keep in mind that it will restrain water flow if it clogs. I use purigen in my tank ... and it's in the sump (first chamber) - makes tank crystal clean, not sure if it drops nitrate ....

i'm unsure about the reactor ~ never use one.

Thanks. I have already ordered foam pads and new felt socks. Waiting for a response from seachem as to whether i can use their products in the reactor or just in the sump or both!

On another note, i added sand to my tank today - that was fun!
