Yes I have a different thermometer now, it just came with that one. Also came with a metal algae scraper so I'm wondering if that's what caused the edge of silicone to lift off in the first place.

Also curious, is the distance between the corner of the glass and the bottom brace normal? I'm considering just getting rid of the tank and taking a break from keeping fish for a while. But on the other hand I really do enjoy this setup and hate that I'm constantly waiting to get a phone call saying that there's 75 gallons of water on the floor.

If I did want it resealed, is that something a local glass shop might do or would it be best to attempt it myself?

A reseal is not terribly difficult, but must be done right. Every spec of old sil must be removed. After scraping, a good rubdown with acetone to remove all residue. Time is the issue. After reseal you need at least 72hrs for a good cure, then should have at least another 24 of water test. What to do with the fish and preserving the filters bacteria would be the thing. Lots of YouTube videos on how to reseal.

Yeah from what I've read resealing isn't terribly difficult just tedious making sure you get all the old silicone.

The problem is finding a place for the fish for the 3-5 days it will take to cure. Assuming I do it perfect the first time.

Buy some large Rubbermaid bins, and put your filters on those.

Canisters wont run without a height allowance between can top and water level. Wont work with big totes on the floor.
