Ok like you suggested I've been looking at smaller cichlids. and really like the look of blue acara's or even the electric blue acara, most people seem to agree that they usually max out around 6".

Any ideas on what i should be looking at tankmate wise?

I'm not particularly interested in breeding so would 2 males or females be better? Or just a male and female and risk it?

In the cichlid world 2 males of anything is most always a fail. 2 females may tolerate each other. Breeding pairs are also a crapshoot, one may not approve of the other. Acaras are a nice cichlid, easy to care for. Just fyi, asking about Green Terrors, the GT you find in lfs are all some mix of Saum/Acara. The true GT, the one with the reputation of nastiness are quite rare and not found in run of the mill lfs.

I may not be the Boss, but I'm ALWAYS right!
