catfish, other than that you will run the risk of fin nipping maybe even worse with most cichlids i would think.... and if you are planning to add any other cichlids a 90gal is going to push it unless you get a smaller type like convicts or something like that.
165 gal, 3 baby tiger oscars, 1 baby red oscar, 1 baby strawberry oscar, 1 baby green terror,2 baby channel cats, 1 pleco.

a while ago i had a convict with my O's, he was one of the worst for fin nipping, he would attack the O's at night when they slept
other pets are my colt (Freddo Frog), my staffy (Tank) and my boxer x,(Steph)

i know a few people who have happily kept angelfish with their O's, i also have had and angel for nearly the life of my O's, no problems there. they dont nip at fins, and i dont think the O sees them as a threat, although i did have a pair of angels to start with.

Got some Silver Dollars with my O and they may chase eachother but don't dare to nip at my O's fins!
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!

technically it is recommended to keep long fins oscars alone in a tank to eliminate the risk of damage to their fins. the fins themselves heal relatively quickly but the risk of infection is the real danger to watch for.
Warning..I will offend you at some point!!!

my goal is simple a complete understanding of the universe, why it is as it is and why it exists at all

an angel fish would be a great tank mate for that veil.
and there should be no issue on fin nipping.
