Hey guys i got my first tiger oscar and his tankmate a blood parrot cichlid they were in a 30 gal tank and i knew it was too small so i got them a new 55 gal tank the oscar is like 3 1/2 in and the blood about the same i have noticed the blood parrot is chasing the oscar around and cornering him more the oscar does it do him too is this normal are they just playing or fighting and could something happen to my oscar?

Cichlids are naturally aggressive. Some more than others. Blood parrots are a crossbreed. One parent is a red devil that is really agressive. However parrot cichlids are not that bad generally. However all fish are different. As long as your oscar is getting food and isnt being injured I wouldnt worry about it. I suspect they are just sorting themselves out in the new tank. After a short while they will probably settle down and stop being so aggressive

You'll probably find that the Oscar will start picking on the parrot Cichlid when he gets a bit bigger. I wouldn't say that parrot Cichlid aggressive fish. If you had a pair, they can be quite territorial, especially when they lay eggs. I must point out, that you can't breed parrot cichlids. Incase you're wondering about the eggs

nope and going to get my new flu val canister filter soon so my crapp HOB Whisper 60 will be gone My tiger is so pretty and flash all the ones at the pet store are not as coloerful yeah my oscar gets plenty of food mixture off pellets flake and live 1 - 2 times a week they really like guppies better than the rosie reds..

When you add the fluval I would have both filters running for about 6 weeks (maybe longer)before you remove the hob otherwise you will have to recycle again. Or you can take to filter media out of the hob and put it in the fluval
