Paul, you were quite right the Oscars are now bold as brass and demanding food day and night - they even start begging if the dogs go near the tank
They have very good appetites and so far have eaten everything they have been offered although I have noticed that when it is pellets a few escape them and once they hit the floor they are no longer of interest however if it's little bits of meat they never miss!
I've already found out that everything that has been said about bioload is absolutely true and unexaggerated!
Their colours are really coming out now, they are a gorgeous, subtle rainbow of shades. They have been named Iguazu and Kerepakupai-MerĂº (Iggy and MerĂº for short) after south american waterfalls. Until I can reliably tell them apart they will probably just be called "the Oscars" though.
