hi all

i have a "amazon" themed community set up which i have black sand and black 3d background because this shows off the fishes (neons, rams etc) colours better! something to do with underneath their scales!!

would this help show off oscar colours better?

im asking because oscars dont have the same sort of scales as other fish!

many thanks

Neon tetras won't last very long with Oscars. Funnily enough, I am putting black sand in my new 300 gallon tank, it should look stunning. To answer your question, it will certainly show off the fish well, especially if they are silvery fish. I have got some really nice pebbles to go on the sand, I'm hoping to get some really big ones as well. I've got some fake Amazon swords which I will have coming up between, hopefully they will work okay. I've also got to really big bits of wood, quite looking forward to getting it set up

your tank sounds very much like the way ive pictured my oscar tank to look! (still saving!!!!)

im only going to have 1 red and 1 albino tiger oscar in it!

i was just wondering if the colours on oscars would show up better in dark surroundings because my neons and rams do!
but theyve got proper scales compared to oscars which are smooth

cheers
