hey guys, havnt been here for ages.... the site has changed heaps...looks good!

i just have a quick question, i was wondering whether or not i have to do anything to a piece of slate before i put it in my tank... it is just a regular piece i found lying around outside...

I wish I could figure out where to get a piece of slate from.

dunno, here in Aus it is used for building sometimes

a plain piece of clay bricks, marble, or clay pot can be used as slate.
in my case, i had used a porcelain bowl (inverted) and my fish lays eggs
on it. just make sure you clean it very well to avoid contamination.

Just give it a good scrub and then put in it the tank
