I just recently bought a used tank-the guy said it is a 75 gallon. These are the dementions: 48 1/2" long, 13 1/2" wide, 19 1/2" tall. Is this right or did I get duped? I need to know because I'm about to start cycling it for some oscars and need to know how many I can put in there

Sorry, it is smaller than 75 gallons. More like 45 UK gallons, 55 US gallons, approximately that is.

A 55 can still be an oscar tank Hun, but just one O and nothing else!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings. That is a little bit too small for an Oscar unfortunately. If the person who sold it to you told you it was 75 gallons, can you not take it back, or is that not really feasible?

i have one oscar in a tank the same size, at 13 months since i bought him as a 2" fishy hes now 11 inches and really needs a bigger tank. if you got flat out lied to like that, you need to take it back and raise hell, and if they dont give you your money back, you need to get a brick and throw it thru his shop window and on your way back to your car slash his tires. i hate rip offs.

Yeah well I emailed the guy back and told him it was 55g not 75g. He apologozed saying he bought it as that size. So He has another 55 ( I saw it -same size as other ) so he made me a deal--I can have the other for $30 ! So of course I took hin up on it! Go to pick it up wednesday. So it worked out in the end. He also has 120g that Im going to get in very near future ! So I think I may go ahead and start cycling the tanks the get 2 or 4 o's . Then move them over to the 120 gal later.

Hi hun...Even at 120 gallons that isn't big enough for 4 O's... That is about right for 2...

thats not a bad deal at all, altho i would wager that guy knew full well what he was selling you. tried to play you for a fool and got caught. lol, atleast hes doin right about it now.

120g would be enough for 2 oscars and some smaller tank mates

same thing happened to me! it was advertised as 80 and it's actually 60-65! burns me up, I was hoping to get a few silver dollars
