moving gravle and half of the water and filter how long should i wait to move the oscar in there i have 4 dinois in there right now they started my 10 gallon the first time and i worked good so i figured i would use them again. let me know been told a week and a month please let me know.

Personally i would allow two weeks for a tank to cycle as your Oscars are already in another tank there is no rush so you have the ideal opportunity to wait until the tank has matured sufficiently.

There is no set time limit on cycling a new tank whether from scratch or by moving media. The best thing to do is get a test kit and keep testing till your readings are ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 40 or less. When this happens do a 50% water change and move your O. Also make sure the temp of the two tanks is within a degree or two.

thanks for the info whats an ideal temp to have the water at like 70f to 80f

27°C, or 80°F is probably an optimum temperature for Oscars. However, they're actually okay right down to 70°F, probably lower actually. However, I wouldn't advise dropping a temperature that low, I'm just saying if it were to drop that lowdon't worry too much
