hey guys, posting after a very long time. reason for my absence was mainly because I had to sell my 2 oscars as I was unable to upgrade my tank size & if I kept coming back here it would remind me of my oscars

anyway I did end up getting a bigger tank but it now has african cichlids in them which I also love. I will be getting around 2 - 4 baby oscars tomorrow for my grow out tank ( 120L ). my question is I currently have 2 bristle nose catfish in the tank at the moment, will the oscars eat the BN? or can they co-exsist?

BN max out at about 5 inches. Even at this size, a sizable Oscar will try and eat one. My Oscars killed a couple of 4 inch BN when they tried to eat them but couldn't swallow them. Personally, I wouldn't bother, they will always be at risk living with Oscars, even when they reach their maximum size.

Welcome back!
Small fish are allways at risk with Oscars.
My smallest pleco has an incredible attitude and used to jab at my Oscar when he came to close to it's cave.
But I still rehomed the lil' fellow, because of the risk of the pleco getting stuck in my Oscars throat, due to the spines on the pleco.
Do you have a place to house your new O's once they outgrow your grow out tank and how many are you gonna keep?
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!

If the BN's will fit in an oscars mouth then dont risk it.
I can't get no sleep
