This may be a dumb question but are there any websites out there that sell driftwood but have pictures of the actual piece you are buying? I'm sure this is wishful thinking but the shops here don't ever seem to have any good pieces for sale and i'm really worried about ordering one offline and just hoping you get something that looks decent. Or if anyone knows of places that would carry driftwood other than a pet store that I may not be thinking of...thanks!

The occasional fish faires in holland have the largest pieces for cheap prizes, but they only come once a year over here.
Checking craigslist or other secondhand site for some wood near you may be best.
You can allways check if it's what you want.

Thanks...I've been checking craigslist often but haven't seen anything yet...hopefully something will pop up...what kills me is I had to large, awesome looking pieces a couple years ago that I ended up selling to a guy setting up a reptile tank. Didn't think i'd be in a place that I could setup a tank for a long time...now i'm kicking myself for getting rid of them!

I'll also check to see if there are any fish fairs going on around here...never thought of that.

you know i would suggest looking at some of the places that sell yard deco with drift wood that is dry and just do a submerge in a bucket to water log it so it stays down or best yet try ebay i know i have a large peice but im sure shipping would kill you on price but def look at lakes and what not you might find a piece there you just have to clean up a bit and would work great for you
I have lost my mind be back when I find it, maybe.

Thanks...never thought of the yard deco places...and I checked out ebay and actually did find a couple pieces I might bid on...the shipping wasn't too bad so I'll keep an eye on them. Looking by the lakes around here is no longer an option since everything is covered in snow right now! haha! Maybe this spring I can take a peek though. Thanks!
