Mr Sheen window cleaner and a duster does a wonderful job. Don't spray it anywhere near the inside of the tank.

I would suspect that white stuff to be .. err .. Kalk .. sorry, just realizing I don't know the English word lol, calcium carbonate by chance?
Have the same on my Oscar tank atm because the Oscar splashed a lot of water out at feeding time, and I didn't move my lazy butt to wipe it away instantly.
Else occasionally using window cleaner as Penn said, and for really resistant cases I've used something with a razor blade, just gotta be careful not to get near the silicone. Just thinking I could possibly try such a thing I use for cleaning the ceramic stove top sometime.

Lol sorry ... it's German but can sure be it's the same in Afrikaans. I once noticed I can read a bit of Afrikaans even.

That's dumb that not even a blade works. I would think if soaking that stuff with lemon acid or some kind of vinegar first, it might be easier to scrape away, but I'd be a bit afraid of using that on a fish tank, even on the outside only

True, a bit of Dutch I can read as well, although it sounds funny to me, just like I sound funny to everyone else probably lol.

Boy, I'm getting confused here now, I thought I was talking to vbaby02 from NZ, so are you the same or a different person now?

Oh phew! It was actually that and the username that confused me lol.

I shall shut up now before I carry this thread to whereever. Hopefully someone knows a better solution to remove those crusty stains.

I read elsewhere that vinegar, preferably white vinegar, will dissolve limescale, if that is what is on the glass. I will imagine you need to soak the vinegar on the area.
