Ok, I am trying to get all the fake plants and decorations for my 75 gal. I plan to have one Oscar in this tank. I found an online store with what seems to be excellent prices. Could you take a look at the plants/decorations that I have picked out so far and advise if they would be good for my set up? Are the plants the right size? Too many or too few of them? I am still looking for a cave-like structure, but want to make sure that these are good prices before I commit to one. They range anywhere from $25 and up on this site.

Thanks. I was hoping I could have a few plants anchored down good enough that they wouldn't be tossed around....
I'll cut it back some, so I don't end up wasting $$ on plants that will get thrown around.

Oscar love to pull plants up, so be prepared to be disappointed. Most oscar keepers dont bother with plants. You can buy those plants with a sucker on that hang down (great for covering pipework), however my oscars kept lifting the bottom up and the arms ended up floating so i put a small lead weight on each arm so when the oscars lift them up they fall back down. I have had 2 of these is my tank for months now and they work great

i got suction cups and used silicone glue to attach the suction cups to the bottom of my plants then just stick em to the bottom of the tank and cover em with graval.. they havent ever gotn moved since

I spent a good bit of money on a bunch of decent looking plants ... now I have none in there

He was smaller when I first put them in, and he was so scared, he didn't move from the middle bottom for a couple days. After a while, he started moving them around, tearing them up. The adolescent stage they can be quite a terror.

I might try again when I have a bigger tank and is a bit older and more docile maybe not. Seems to like the open space now, and when younger seemed to like to hide a bit more.

If you are changing tanks, then you could always silicone the new plants in place ... but that is a little too permanent for me ... since I like to change it occassionally anyway.

The suction cup idea sounds like it would work ... though it doesn't stop the O from tearing the plant up (pulling pieces off). I guess it depends on how the plant is made
