Hi every one.
I'm gonna set up a 100 gallon tank to have 2 oscars and a few dollars or severums. How can I do this using the least money and time?

I say check secondhand sites for bargains.
I got all my tanks at bargain prices or even for free.
Craigslist seems to be a good place to start.
And i say if it's possible, get a somewhat bigger tank then a 100.
With the stocking you have get a 150Gl if possible.
that will keep maintenane acceptable and your fish healthy and happy!

i have to agree, you are going to need a bigger tank than a 100 gallon with the stock you have. noddy has you covered.

I just want to add that you cannot rush the initial setting up of an aquarium. You have to be patient, it's going to be several weeks before your tank is ready for an Oscar. You've got to establish a biological filter that will make the environment safe for your fish. Please do not go out and buy Oscars as soon as you have put water in the tank, you can read what we have on the website, or seek advice on our forums.

But hey, don't tell me what I know. I wanna know what kinda filters you suggest, what brands, what kinda plants, ... .
And mista OFL, I've read the "Bacteria in a Bottle". I think I'll cheat the whole N cycle with it.

surfing the craig list always give a good result in US and Europe...there are other site that offers bargain....you can choose among what they are offering...complete
set from tank down to filtration.....

there are lots of different filters out there, the usual named brands such as fluval and eheim, plus other less well known makes such as sunsun which have decent reports.. some of the less known makes are a LOT cheaper..

plants are a personal thing, you oscars will likely rip them up, so if money is an issue its upto u wether u want to potentially waste good money on plants that might get ripped up..

sand or gravel will do, depepnding on your choice, with gravel probably been cheaper..

whatever decoration u want really, some people do ths in ingenious ways, use cheap plant pots and blocks and stuff, bits of bogwood, mopani or slate and piles of rocks, the choice is endless...

if you can buy a 2nd hand setup with everything you need this will almost definately be cheaper then getting everything seperately..

And hey, I ain't looking for a tank. I got the glass, I got the perfect surface for it. I need what's gonna be placed inside the glass. The filtration, the heater, ... .

what is available in your area... brand, type, capacity...from there,
we can recommend what size is fitted for your tank choice but we must know
what size are you eying.... it will be difficult if we recommend something
that is not available in your place....
