How big is your tank?
What is all in it?
How big or what kind of filter do you have?

Can you test the rest of your water readings. Ammonia, Nitrite, and nitrate please...

X3.
ammonia and PH are related as to how serious your situation is. a full water test and the above info will give us more of a clue as to why you have the ammonia spikes. I don't mean to add to the list but was the tank cycled? have you cleaned the filter recently? did you leave large amounts of raw fish over time?

The products " API ammonia lock" may help as will "seachem Prime" but the answer is to solve why not just to treat it short term.

Any food given to your O will result in ammonia levels, after the fish has pooped.
that's why we have filters, to convert the ammonia into nitrites etc.
Please answer Nicki's questions, so we can help you more.
Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!
