Hello, what is the best way to paint the back of a fish tank? (Acrylic Glass).

I am pretty sure I read on here that a few people do paint the back of their aquariums,...maybe it was Nicki-Sue, if my memory stands true.

Thank you.

It was me Hun, Among others.. LOL. But my tank is glass not acrylic. I am not sure if that makes a difference or not.

I used Flat black spray paint... I cleaned the back of the tank REALLY well and allowed it to dry..They I applied thin layers of Black Krylon spray paint. Allow to dry about 10- 15 minutes between coats and keep spraying until the can was empty! when you have about 2 coats left if you have someone move a light from the inside of the tank while you are looking through the back of the tank you will see if you have thin spots! Good luck!

I used acrylic artist's paint, on the outside of the tank: painted the black lines and patterns 1st, then colors. Working on getting a photo up.

I used the black acrylic paint myself and I have used other colors in the past too.

I used a very light blue paint before. I applied it with just with a brush having to give it a few coats but it drys very quickly and the smears and brush strokes soon fill in..
