looks to be a variation of "Peacock Cichlid" . african cichlid. ... they can be aggressive , but usually the peacocks are pretty docile.

many wouldn't recommend keeping african cichlids with american cichlids.

That is a male Haplochromine cichlid from Lake Victoria. Most of them are pretty rare these days, due to the introduction of the Nile Perch into Lake Victoria, which is fast exterminating a great deal of species. I haven't seen them available for sale in a couple of decades. Snap it up if you can, maybe see if a pair is available(females have little to no color)to attempt breeding. Good luck.

Also, do not put these in w/ Oscars. They don't get nearly as big, & Africans should not be kept w/ SA/CA cichlids(different water chemistry)

My pta sad he could get me one. But don't know if I can get a pair . If they can get ones that are sexed.next problem is a tank set up.how big will I need for pair.
