Hi I will be selling some small oscars in a month or so .
If anyone is interested ,reply here and i will leave info to contact.
I live in midwest illinois and will consider delivery in the tristats area .And it never hurts to ask anyway .

Anyone with any pointers on selling oscars please share .
I have checked most local pet stores and they are under contract with someone.
Some of the smaller stores prefer to use the credit system ( which is alright )
I would also be interested in knowing what they sell for in your area .

Thanks
Russ

maybe you could advertise them in your local newspaper if it has a livestock or for sale section or whatever.

i can buy a baby oscar about 3 -4 cms long for any where between $10 and $20 AUS depending on colour and breeding quality. one shop sells them cheap the others get as much as they can. i have always bought my O's from the cheap shop and i have never had any quality problems, they have always been healthy fish.

depending on size and colour i would say a fair price would be between $10 -$15 AUS.
other pets are my colt (Freddo Frog), my staffy (Tank) and my boxer x,(Steph)

My Sevs laid eggs and soon I had fry and I was already spending the money I'd get in store credit when I took them in....then they all died for no reason. I went from about 400 to less than a dozen and they're slowing dying. I'd like to know what you feed yours and what water temp you keep them at. How old are they now?

Im feeding my oscars baby brine shrimp .Im hatching these daily for fry food ..I keep some crushed flake and pellet food as a back up incase i need to feed inbetween brine. But i have only had to do that one time .Im not by any means a fish expert and i feel kinda dumb becasue i dont know what a SEVS is

I have had good luck so far with my fry .i think i have only lost about 5 and i would say they somehow got AIR stuck in them or they had some kinda prob. They had a air bubble looking thing on them.I extracted a couple and popped the bubble with a needle .they looked normal when i put them back but i can tell if they made it or not .

I lost more than 5 before they hatch due to fungus on the eggs.
I would say i have 200 and they are doing good as far as i can tell .

i dont know if you have messed with baby brine shrimp or not ,But when a brine shrimp is hatch they are kinda orange and all of my Frys bellys are orange also .So that is my goal right now ( to keep thier bellys orange)

Im keeping my temp at about 74 degrees right now ..I think its suppose to be higher .But this may explain my my fry are running about 2-3 days behind what they are suppose to be .
exsample i was told they would use up thier yoke sack in 4 days but it took 6 days

They have been hatched for 11 days as of the 17th

thanks bianca

that is the kind of info i was looking for .

Small o's about 4cm sell for about $6.50 in stores around here .
Im not a retailer so i was kinda hoping to sell to a retailer for a bit less than this price .I use to have convicts and i would get store credit for those but i flooded the market and pretty much had to give the last batch away .Of course they had no probs breeding and growing .

I may try putting a ad in the paper . Thank you for the tip
I am kinda hopeing this smaller local fish store will work with me some

hey Russ, that is the side effect of breeding....
if you don't have any lfs to take them, that would be
your other concern later.

if you are in my place, you will just give them away...
because a two inches oscar here will cost you around
P150.00 only (P48.00/US$).

48 Dollars for a baby oscar?? wow, they are about 11.00 here.
Sorry about that Russ, I've picked up the habit of using shortened names, I should stop that
A Sev is a Green Severum...or gold or red....but mine are green.
