Well and the sick part is, the people who bought him, also bought an adult Oscar... I asked if they had ever had oscars before... They said they had but they all died in a short few weeks.. I about cried... I wrote down this web site for them and all I can do is hope they come here...

now thats a shame. i hope they follow thru with it and more importantly i hope they learned what they did wrong the last time.

see... thats like the people that own that aquarium at the resturant my mom works at with the ick problem.... ive tried to talk to the owners about taking care of it, they flat out DONT CARE, they just throw money at me as if that is somehow the answer... im not really complaining about the pay but there is a bigger problem than finances. its a knowledge thing, and their lack there of! my damned dragon fish managed to escape and i get a call at 11pm saying "your fish disappeared" and i go up there the next morning, only to find the poor creature covered in lint and dust on the floor behind the tank and my heart sank as i had babied that thing for a year, and that ignorant wench had the audacity to come up, put her hand on my shoulder and say "is he still alive??" as i hold the dusty stiff dead fish in my hand.

i really could have choked her at that moment.

That's terrible Win, why have the fish if you don't care about them? so sad.

I have 4 Jewels that never bother anybody, they're either not aggressive or very aware of the fact that they're the smallest fish in the tank In the mornings they're very red but after the sun comes up they go back to silver/white. I love mine I'm glad you're there to take care of them. People bitch about other animals being mistreated but this is the only place I hear people caring about fish. Part of the reason I love ya'll so much

u gotta pay close attention and care to fish, they cant just communicate with you like a dog or a cat or other critter. all you really have to go on is what u can see. and most of the time by time you can see something you have very little time to act on it.

and come to think of it, i think i like fish more, ive never had a fish take a shit on my new carpet.

I'm not so sure I agree with you, if you watch the fish close you see what's going on although they can get sick fast. Several of mine have very clear personalities. Little Man is half dog I think, he wags his tail every time he sees me and come as close as he can. When I touch the glass he'll come right to me. He either loves me or knows I have a worm for him....I think it's love
