A few months ago I decided that due to ongoing health issues I could no longer continue keeping a large tank running. Like most of us on here, my fish are an integral part of my life now and giving them all is pretty much out of the question.

It's still been quite a chore to carry on maintaining a large 300 gallon tank so I've now decided to downsize considerably. I have decided that my 300 gallon tank is too much work and have reluctantly decided to let it go. But instead of jacking in things completely, I am going to start up my 125 gallon tank again, thankfully I never did sell it. Before I start advertising seriously I thought I would mention it on here, you never know, somebody close to me may be interested.

The tank measures 8' x 2.5' x 2.5' and holds approximately 300 gallons of water. There is a sump filter of approximately 40 gallons built into the cabinet with all plumbing in place. Also included are light and two Eheim pumps.

I will take some fresh photos but you can see the photo in this link

I can always ship it to you

Whoever buys it is going to need some strong help because it's quite heavy.

Haven't decided how much yet, I'd like to think I could ask £300 but I think I will be waiting a long time before somebody gives me that kind of money. I've got to Rehome a load of fish first which may be difficult. As long as someone can give them a good time, I will probably just give them away

I really don't think it would be feasible to send the fish. They are readily available in the USA so I don't see anyone really bothering. I'm sure something will come along. Anyway, I will be setting my 125 gallon tank up again with an Eheim 3 professional filter. Just a couple of Oscars, that's all I want to keep.

If i had the room i would hire a van and be down there like a shot. But then again if i had the room i would have got a bigger tank than my 180g

The problem with selling a tank that big is that it is too big for most people. You need to find a fish nut

Good luck with rehoming the fish

Have you considered keeping the fish you would keep in the 125g in the 300g. If you kept them in the 300g you would need to clean the filter less often, and if you do the same percentage water change you would do water changes less often. It would obviously be more expensive to run the 300g as far as power is concerned, however the maintainence would be less often/cheaper(if you are paying someone). You just have to resist putting extra fish in

I just want something that is easy to clean, this is a nightmare to be quite honest. The 125 gallon tank is a piece of cake to look after. Somebody who can get their hands dirty than I am able to will really enjoy this tank a lot. I recommend aquatic center, or large tropical premises would probably want to go for something like this.
