Any body keep wolf cichlids?I bought a pair and there digging hollows in the gravel could this be a sighn of spawning or territory?Anybody who has had experience with these please post you're thoughts and indeed experience of them thanks tim.



p.s the male won't leave the female alone he's not hurting her he seems to be doing alot of showing off!!

I saw one of these in the local aquatic centres about six months ago, do you realise how big they get? Nearly 2 foot long.

Mating behaviour and spawning is very similar to Oscars.

Yea i believe they can get to 26 inch the males,i doubt they'll get this big in captivity but there in a 6x2x2 so if they do ill have a chance to upgrade there living quarters to maybe an 8x3x2 what you think penn?

I reckon they will be a little squeezed in an 8 x 3 x2 tank but i would say it do-able, assuming they get on ok

Where talking wild specimens that get that big females are a lump smaller 16 inch tops!I doubt 1 would get this big in captivity though.
