Don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but here goes.

The flowerhorn seems to only be happy with frozen food. No flakes, no pellets, no fruits and veggies.

If anyone here has a flowerhorn, what does yours eat?

Cheers,
4xOscars
1xBlood Parrot
2xJDs (pair)
5xClown Loaches
1xPleco

265 Gallons (84x24x30)
36" T5 Light for shading, sunlight effects
300 Gallon rated Living Color wet-dry sump
3L of SeaChem Matrix + Bioballss, ceramic rings etc...
1xIvy for nitrate filtering

I am always looking for better ways to enhance the lives of my babies. Hit me up, let's chat about fish!

no expierience with flowerhorn, but i'm confronted with picky eating habits with my puffers at the moment.
those 2 buggars do not want to eat any shared food, except for bloodworms and snails.
They both have their own diet nowadays.
one eats krill, artemia and prawns, (all frozen stuff) while the other one refuses that stuff, and will eat mealworms and dried shrimp.

but i'm sure you'll get some flowerhorn's keepers input soon enough.

That's just a fish trait, man. Oscars overtly show their personality more than any other fish, but cichlids in general are known to be pretty picky when it comes to their food. Example...I have green terrors who will ONLY eat Massivore sinking food.

Nothing else. Not even feeders.

Just the way it is, man.
