Kanga,
This is the first time this pair has made it this far. They used to eat the eggs too. I read (yes, like all information on the net is true

) that if a cichlid eats their own eggs, it was because none of them were fertilized. I don't know if that is true or false.
This is the second time this pair has laid eggs, and there were in fact some unfertilized eggs this time, and they ate those away. They left all the fertilized ones however.
This is the same tank with the leaf fish I spoke of in another post. If they make it to free swimming stage in this tank anyway, they are hosed. There are 3 breeded angel pairs in this tank and 2 leaf fish.

Angel fish are just about my favourite species. I have had 2-3 pairs of breeding Angels but have sadly found them to be poor parents. I have found that most times they eat the eggs before hatching. Once, I got them to survive to the free swimming stage only again to see the parents turn on thier young. the only success I had was to take the eggs off them and raise them artificialy but even than, fungus got a good many before the eggs could hatch.
