Namaste my friends, i just have a question about EBJD "Jacko / Senior Hyde"
hes a great fish never really bullies my other fish but does assert himself, however he acts like hes the tiniest fish out there when your near his tank. If you approach t quick he hides from you than shies out. Now is this just the usual JD personality? Hes about 4 1/2 months old and measures roughly 5 inches, will he bolder with age or is he just a shy guy?

tried postin a pic of the fam but wrong size it'll come soon thou
pics in my album thou

My female JD is very shy, and she hides too!
It's NOT smart to piss off the girl with the BAN button!

Sometimes JDs can be passive and stand-offish. But when you have a full grown male, he decides who gets to share a space with him. I put my 11" JD back in my 140Gallon. That lasted about 24 hours. I came home on my lunch break only to find my JD chasing every fish in the tank...even including the 11" Pleco. I had to move the JD out of there, quickly before he injured or stressed out my fish too much.

I have had a couple of JDs in the past that were not dominant at all. Mostly hid all the time, didn't grow much. I think I must have had females in the past. This male I have is the equivelant to a male that provides a "stud service" to all female purebred horses and dogs. There are pros and cons, trust me.

My EBJD is always at the glass but when I brought him I chose him for that cheeky curiosity. But he seems real small compared to yours. He is nearly 8mnths and only 3and half inch, is mine alittle small? He has suffered fom cloudy eye for ages but he is always alert and confident. I guess it depends on the fish but I find when you feed them try talking and then they will connect your voice with food.

NOOO dont put that evil on me! hes a boy he has too be
just my luck, every fish i've owned has been a girl haha (guess the ladies love me )

well i like him/her and will love it regardless, and ill have to keep you guys updated on how jacko ages
as for your smaller JD, from all that i've read on this site there are quite a few factors that may contribute negatively to your fishes growth; water quality, tank size, how much you feed them, how dominant they are in the tank and much more im sure.
To top that no fish is the same and grow at different rates, and apperantly our EBJDs can tend to be slower growin fish anyhow

best of luck, you should post pics of your little guy

very nice looking ebjd! from what I have seen they don't grow very well and don't live very long. I worry about the man-made affects.
