Hi All,

I have had a small bump with a white head near my severum's eye for around a week. Now they have spread pretty much overnight and are all around both eyes and one larger one on the middle of his head.
He is a male and has a female in the tank which he breeds with regularly.

Do they look like a spot? I have seen fish with one before but not several. Often this sort of thing can be a growth on a skin sore



A friend had a fish with a spot like this, he took the fish out of the tank to examine it, the process of catching it and with the fish thrashing in the net caused the white 'spot' to get rubbed off. What was left was a skin sore that quickly healed up

Any agression in the tank recently, or do you think the fish may have injured itself, Can you test your water for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate

Hi, All water tests are fine and other fish in the tank are ok too.
It's been two days now and in that time the spots have completely gone and come back in different places even bigger - anoher photo attached.
Please help i don't want to lose him
There has been no agression in the tank.

do you have a plec in the tank?? I have seen something like this when my parrot attacked a plec. the spines cause small red sores this became spots. I cant say for sure this is the answer but just a guess at something that looks the same???

Nope, there are no Plecs in the tank.
Do you think it is posible that this is hole in the head disease? Is this contageous?

No its not contagious but is water condition and diet related. so if it is then other fish may or may not get it. I also think HITH is related to stress. the fact that your water is fine and there is no aggression leaves me wondering. also the fact it clears quickly only to come back somewhere else makes me think not HITH. I would watch and see how things go. It may clear, keep your water in good order as you have been doing.i think it maybe small sores getting infected.you could try aquarium salt or a stress coat. adding a little more aqua safe to your water changes too protect the skin.i dont like adding anything really but these will do no harm if used in right amounts and may help.
