today i purchased another fish to add to my collection. i picked up what i beleive to be a juvenile texas cichlid specifically Herichthys cyanoguttatus.

if anyone here has an opinion on the sex of this fish or if i am indeed correct in my species assumption.

i would like to know what you think

I dont think that is a texas. I think it is more than likely a blue acara or less likely a green terror.

Blue acaras grow to about 6 inches and are great tank mates. Green terrors as the name suggest can be nightmares. They are really aggressive

thanks for pointing me in the right direction. after some research i found out you are correct and it is either a blue or port acara. at least now i know what i have
