as if i didnt have enough fry to deal with already i notice this evening that my jacks have been busy digging under their driftwood and chasing the other fish away from the area.
it might be that spring is in the air and they have finally decided to mate. jsut what i need right now. aggressive jacks well at least i have a divider handy.....

ill keep you posted

i have been supplying my lfs with fry. i got rid of 75 last week(from the first batch) but i still have about 50 in with the parents from the last batch and they just laid again.

i think im just going to leave them in the tank and see what happens....

how does it feels that you can share your hatchlings?

lfs here in my place was so excited when he saw that
beautiful yellow oscar i have. he is convincing me to
breed and supply him the fry. he will tend them to grow.

what do you use as a divider Necro? I was thinking about using a screen but I'm not sure about putting metal in the water.
If you can't beat them...arrange to have them beaten!

in a hardware, you can get a plastic mesh or egg crate
that can be used for the purpose. metal will corrode and
stain the water.

i use egg crate for dividers. the holes are big enough to allow water to freely flow and small enough to keep the fish seperated. i pick mine up at home depot for $10 for a 4x2 sheet.
