Hi guys just an update on my 250 US Gallon tank since its been forever since i was last on. I posted awhile ago how my fish had ick all died besides my oscars there healthy knw. I lost 1 red devil, 2 green terrors, 1 arowona, and a large chinese alge eater. what happend was i cured the tank for ick and it had no to little affect on the fish i lost my benifical bactera in my tank and my amonia levels shot up with my nitrite levels my lfs told me to pull my oscars and put into a smaller tank and let my big tank cycle again, so i did. now all levelsare good again i put my oscars back in and they must of missed the tank because they seem happy knw. The only reason why im posting it in this section is because i know have 2 red bellies in the tank only about 1 inch in size. and 4 black and white convicts and there already laying eggs lol i figured it would be good oscar food with the fry and my lfs told me they will buy from mesowhat ones live ill sell to them. people might think im crazy to add 2 red bellies to the tank but theres plenty of room and i saw 4 red bellies fully grown in a tankwith 2 oscars and it was the same size as mine. if they start to act up ill pull them and put into my 120 US gallon. but post if u think im crazy or should pull them knw thanks

hi josh, welcome back. since you do have a big tank, territorial issue could be eliminated. however, if you want to breed, the presence of different specie in one tank would be inappropriate. parents or tank mates will picked the hatchlings.

i agree with paul, i reckon your tanks big enough to stop any problems but keep your back up tank on stand by! lol

Hey guys i bought the red bellies yesterday and sad to say one was missing this morning only thing i can think of is it got eaten by my big Oscar the other one is doing good but is schooling with the convicts kinda funny to see. i saw the one sleeping this morning and was laying on his side he swam away once i turned on the lights and a convict was under it kinda like a shelter lol. I did pick up 2 more fish and there Firemouth's kinda cool looking but nothing fancy and i got a African Butterfly a really weard looking fish but was different so i picked it up. talk to u all later..

haha sorry forgot to say its pirhana's and i lost my other one lastnight this is crazy the tank has a lid on it and theres no way they could of jumped out because its sealed tight. if they would of died i would of saw them. and both where healthy the nights before they came up mp of missing. My big oscar really isnt that big compaired to the size of the pirhanas and on top of that they body strucker with the tall bodies. i knw my big oscar is about 5 inches long but is really wide and my smaller one is about 3.5 inches the pirahana's where about 2 inches long maybe 2.5. im conpletely confused because they whee aggressive and my oscars will not touch the convicts and there only about a inch maybe smaller. the convicts are not even scared of my O's and the pirahana's stayed away. my firemouthes i just bought are only 2 inches long lol and they dont get chased at all eather idk mybe i should just buy more and put them in my 120 US gallon. my thoughts are because the silver color attracks my O's idk lol owell i love my O's more then any fish in there so owell lol
