I want to know about keeping Dicsus fish. They are beautiful and I want some but I need all info. I know somebody on here used to have them so Everyone enlighten me!

I always thought that discus were really cool looking and wanted to try them but never had the room in my tanks... Let me know how it goes cause maybe I will turn Spike over to my 160 gal once that is up and running and do discus in the 110.... I don't know I am so undecided

funny fact but you can have more live plants in a discus tank than with o's but they do need a more brackish water than others they get big but you can have a lot of variety in color, i have even believe it or not seen freshwater stingrays in the tank too if you think you can handle that challenge with a sand bottom and all.

that would make for on cool looking tank...Discus and rays together cool.. I am getting sold

lol i never even knew you could do that until the one day i found a 75 gal and 55 gal me and a friend went halfs on where he had a 100 gal taking over the place so he could breed rays but ya he had an awesome tank with 4 discus and 1 ray in it with a beautiful sand bottom it was really cool i had to wait for my 55 but i got it fully stocked with chichlids it was way cool tank too this guy was pretty cool guy

how big do the discus get? and how many can you have in a 100 gal tank?

if i remember right they get more tall other than long but i think its like 4" long maybe more but really i would say like for healthy tank with some of them they school well together but i would say 6 would be max maybe

To keep the discus Fish, you will need to keep the water in very good condition all the time. These fish can also suffer from hole in the head like Oscars.

Discus are beautiful, I've wanted a big tank full ever since I saw them a few weeks ago. If I move the table closer to the kitchen I could make room for a big tank ...or just get rid of the table LOL Here is a link I've been looking at Nicki.
