I can't seem to tell the difference between a JD and a green terror, I Googled their photos and they look the same to me. I just got this guy with 2 new baby oscars and gaved my 3 oscars to a friend of mine that had a bigger tank.

JD or Green terror?

Gold saum... Aequidens sp. "gold saum"

the way you tell the difference... GTs will have a gold/silver lining on the edge of tail/dorsal fins... gt also have elongated spangles on the face and are more green while JDs are mostly blue

enjoy your new fish...

thanks guys .. One more question.. since i added a background to my fish tank, my green terror keeps seeing his reflection on it and keeps trying to attack it, should i get rid of the background?

let him fight his reflections. my friend told me that once
he get tired, it will stop and become tame. minimal chance to
attack other tank mate

its kinda tough to say from your pics but to me the top one looks like a cobalt blue zebra(maybe of the Maylandia genus) and the orange one looks like a red zebra(pseudotropheus zebra red)

btw they are both african ccichlids from lake malawi
