i recieved a pair of these guys and i was just wondering if anybody could give me any info on it. all i know is they are some sort of cichlid. my friend had to get them out of his pacu tank due to him being afraid of them becoming food. i dont understand his logic but he thought they would do better with my oscar. anyways they were pretty and i said id take them. they stayed hidden. and have been hidden for a while and never really gave me a good pic but one got evicted from his cave by the convits and i finally got a good picture of him/her. one has a kinda pale red/pink color about the throat, but the other one is like bright bright red colored there, but that one wont come out of its cave either which is on the other end of the tank.

that my friend is a VERY VERY RARE SUNSET / YELLOW JEWEL CICHLID !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW YOU ARE VERY LUCKY TO HAVE THEM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol really? i think he said he bought them at walmart.

yep ..the sunsets /yellows are very very rarely seen or imported ..

wow well i may have to setup a tank for their very own then and see if i cant get them to breed. im pretty sure they are a pair as their colors are too different for me to think they are the same sex.

i have bred jewels for many many years !!!!!!!!!!! is the one with the most red on the throat bigger than the one thats greyer underneath please ????

slightly maybe, its hard to tell i never see them near each other and the one with the red never comes out of his stump i cant ever really even see it.
