I made this thread because,I was at work and we got a 7 inch female jaguar cichlid that tried killing a 10 inch dovii and 8 inch red devil cichlid..So she is in her own 75 gallon! Hopefully someone will buy her? lol, in my eexperience, I'd say the Buttikoferi cichlid?, or the M. auratus cichlid, for the worst temperment!..But, I want to here your opinions?

Yeah, midas are pretty mean! Do you think there meaner then red devil's?

right now the nastiest fish i own is probably my male jag. but im sure in a few months my motas or my texas will be the most aggressive fish i will own.

my worst was a blue ahli, i had to give him away because the Oscars were forced to stay in the upper corner of the tank, and the green terror was forced behind a rock all of the time.
he was very pretty, but i would definately not recommend them as tankmates for O's.

I try to do anything in the tank and it attacks my fingers, and has bitten me hard enough in the past to draw blood.

yall will laugh but when i say the meanest fish i have ever kept were a pair of 3" convicts that were breeding. that pair of 3" fish trained a foot long oscar, a foot long pleco, 5 electric yellow cichlids, and a synodontis, and 5 pictus catfish to stay in a corner while the 2 lil convicts ruled the other 3/4 of the tank with an iron fist.

Well for me i would say my 5 inch dovii male. I have owned or still have a Jag., red devil, midas, convicts, south american pike, oscars, crappie. My dovii has shredded my jag i had bossed around my 2 10inch oscars had to rehouse them. And chases my red devil. The only fish that will stand up against my dovii is the pike but in time ill have to rehouse the pike to. So for me by far the male dovii. But pound for pound i would say convict there mean little guys

Yea i forgot to say to i have owned a buttikoferi and the dovii putt it in check and killed it while i was sleeping. I wish i was on my computer i would share the video of the dovii putting the buttikoferi in check. The only fish housed with the dovii knw is breeding pair of convicts, pike and a mean fire mouth otherwise the others are knw in my 120 gallon and i forgot the say the dovii is in a 250 gallon

a mean firemouth? I have 2 and they are sweethearts, some of my prettiest fish. I didn't know they could be aggressive at all.
None of mine are really mean, just the Severums when they're breeding...I guess I'm lucky

Each its quite weard he wasnt always this mean i think its because he had a mate and she ended up getting her head eatin. After that he just became a major D*ick to every fish in the tank he fights with the male convict all the time he wants his female and he will chase my male dovii, oscars and red devil around the only fish he will wont chase is the pike i have but yet the pike is scared of the dovii lol kind of a big loop i guess. Honestly im happy my firemouth is a mean guy so he can hold his own
